The Norns

Urd ("Fate"), Verdandi ("Necessity") and Skuld ("Being") were three goddesses
concerned with destiny in Norse myth.  They lived by a pool called Urdar, and would
sprinkle the water on the roots of Yggdrasil, the World Ash.
