Asukai Aiko - ronin
Like her given name, Aiko is not a very large woman. Her whole physique is more like that of a dancer than anything, with slender but toned muscles and a natural grace to every movement. While lithesome she is also elegant in attire, without becoming showy.
Dressed in traditional clothing with traditional hairdo she is not easy to spot among other samurai unless her face is seen. While the face is attractive and may draw the viewer in, it is not what keeps someone looking. Even when she smiles and laughs there is something behind it, something darker and serious.
When given a chance to see her arms, there is clear evidence of some manner of misfortune from the multitude of scars on them; to the trained eye it most likely comes from the arms having been broken at some time not too long ago. It is evident that she is working on restoring strength to her arms as she sometimes struggles with things - but far is it from her to complain or ask for help.
There are also scarring on the right side of her neck, a thin line as from a cut, and rougher tissue on the left side of her head.
Her voice is soft and well articulated, and would perhaps be a voice for singing if she had some schooling. As it stands, she sings when she believes herself to be alone, finding it comforting and soothing, even though she does not always hit the right note.
When clad in her armour, it is clear that she is a samuari, or at least were one at one time; light samurai armour and daisho gives that away. The light armour suggests speed over strength, or perhaps it is her current lack of full strength that dictates this choice. The only way to know for certain is to observe her in action.
As a member of the Asukai clan, Aiko has an abiding hatred of the Shimizudani, whose treachery saw her own clan become ronin about a year ago. |
