Anenokoji Mikoto
Anenokoji Mikoto is a small woman, even for someone of her heritage, and her youth is very apparent in her demeanor and personality as well as her looks. Still, despite her small stature and slightly frail looking physique, her eyes contain a willpower and inner strength that many strive to achieve. She tends to dress in her shrine maiden garb when not at formal occasions, and carries herself as expected for someone of her family and profession - dignified and gentle.
She also has a natural beauty about her that keeps her skin fair and her face and figure pleasing, and it is apparent that she as she grows, she will become a very beautiful woman. As it stands, she is still discovering her potential in all things, and her dark eyes always look upon everything with an eagerness to understand it all.
Her current training and residence is at the Mori-jinga shrine, where her reed flute can be heard when she is not performing her usual duties.
Koneko is not big. Small and lithesome, moving very much with catlike motions, gracefully and with precision. She almost gives the impression of running risk of blowing away should the gale catch her off guard, or be tossed over by a sudden gust.
Her dark hair is long and silken, hanging down straight as the twigs of the willow tree and framing her open face in which two dark eyes are set. These eyes seem to watch everything with a hint of amusement, an impression further underlined by the apparent smile that gently curves her lips even when fully relaxed.
The clothing is wear is of her own making, traditional in style yet serviceable to her profession as a weaver and seamstress. Usually when on the road she leans now and then against her walking staff as if to catch her breath, also taking the time to take in the surroundings - often with great pleasure and curiosity, as if nature holds her in awe.
When she speaks the voice is gentle and soft, almost shy, and somewhat girlish due to its high pitch while her laughter is both quick and spirited.
Michio is a young man whose upbringing was clearly not at the upper end of the social scale.
Everything about him, from his manner of speech, to his worn and patched clothing, to the way he carries himself, all says "peasant". And not a rich one, even by peasant standards.
His clothes are in shades of gray and brown, excluding the patches, which come in a wide variety of mismatched colors, patterns and materials. It appears that practicality takes precedence over pride when it comes to mending his garments.
In bad weather a straw hat and raincoat supplement his attire.
Closer examination reveals that he would be quite tall, if he stood straight, but he seems to have a habitual stoop to his shoulders, and a way of pulling in on himself, which makes him appear much smaller.
Washima Amaya
Jomei is twenty one, tall for a Japanese and stockily built. His armour and clothing, though of good quality, is somewhat untidily worn as if he had other things on his mind when he put it on. Whilst he practices with his weapons, as is his duty, he is not overly fond of martial exertion. He is more frequently found sitting with his paintbox sketching, or copying from an illustrated text than in the dojo. He is not well known at his Lord's court, preferring the quiet of his own small estate and the solitude of the woods.
Tall and lean, Washima Katsuro is a bit thin for a Samurai. Handsome with fine, almost feminine features he would be described as delicate. But while his facial features could almost be described as beautiful, there an almost unnatural inner strength in his eyes that makes him seem quite masculine.
Impeccably dressed and well groomed, Katsuro seems a bit of a dandy, but there is a spartan quality to the young man that gives the impression that he is more like a well cared for blade than a delicate flower.
